What is a ‘Lifetime Supply of theCRICKETtoy’
Friday, April 17th, 2009For certain occasions, I offer a ‘Lifetime Supply of theCRICKETtoy’ and I often get people asking how many that is. Here is the blog entry dedicated to “How Awkward are you?”
When the first sample sound chips came in, I wanted to know how long the batteries would last, so I did what any insane inventor would do, I sat and counted chirps until the battery died. I started in the house and drove my wife CRAZY! Then on a trip to see my folks in Pensacola (6 hour car ride), I sat and counted until the battery died.
I got to 2700 chirps before the battery starting giving out and it sounded like a slow-motion cricket. I actually went to 3200 just to see when it would completely give out (it didn’t by the way). I gave up. 2700 it is.
If you have 5 awkward moments/pauses (APs) a day, that’s 1825/year. If you lived to be 80 and you are 10, that would be 70 years X 1825 APs a year = 127,750 APs in your lifetime. Let that sink in by the way. OK…127,750 APs divided by 2700 chirps per cricket (CPCs) and you’ll get 48 crickets to handle your life of awkward.
Yes, I’m aware that you may have more than 5 awkward moments a day but a few things:
1. You’re not 10
2. If you’re that awkward, someone will end up shooting you before you turn 80
3. If you’re still chirping 10 years later, someone will end up shooting you.
So I’ve rounded up so 50 equals a ‘Lifetime Supply of theCRICKETtoy!’
Yes..yes..yes..I don’t apparently have a life and am taking this cricket thing way to seriously.
I made 15,000 of them (many sit behind me in my office). I’ve got to take it seriously.
Wow..you really read all of this?
Yikes!
Chirp. Chirp.
