I’ve had a number of folks who have asked if we have banners they could place on their website to tell people about theCRICKETtoy®. I’ve got them finished now and they’re down below. You can simply right click and save them to your computer. If you put them on your website as a banner ad, let me know and I’ll do a shout out for you.

     Just lately, I’ve been overwhelmed by the respond about theCRICKETtoy®. It seems with all that’s going on right now, there seem to be plenty of awkward moments going on. And the reality is, people like to laugh. It’s therapeutic. HHmm..can I market this to hospitals? Yep…A.D.D.

     If you’ll put one of these banner ads on your website, I’ll certainly do a shout out. Just no ‘adult’ sites. I want my 6 year old and 4 year old daughters to be able to look at the websites where Daddy’s cricket is.

     There are certain moments in the life of an entrepreneur that are those defining moments:

     • When you hold your idea/invention in your hand for the first time.

     • When you see your idea on tv, film or hear it on the radio.

     • The day you recoup your start-up costs and begin to make money.

There is another day that inventors and creators love.

     The day you can put ® after your ‘baby’ is a GREAT DAY!

     How’s it work? You submit your trademark application (or patent) to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and then you wait. A fairly long time. I think ours took about 8-9 months, but it’s anywhere from 6 months to a year a half for it to make it through the system. During that time you can put the tm symbol on your design, but anyone can really do that. The tm symbol can be used with any common law usage of the mark (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trademark), but the ® means your trademark has been officially registered with the USPTO. It’s a feeling that is hard to describe.

     In legal terms, it totally rocks!

     For those of you with a dream, get some wise counsel, make sure someone else didn’t already do it and then go after those dreams!
