What’s the temperature Calvin?

According to Calvin, theCRICKETtoy, it is always a beautiful 65 degress Fahrenheit.

If one of his cousins (a live cricket) is chirping nearby, count how many times he chirps in 15 seconds and then add 40 to that number. That is the temperature outside in Fahrenheit.

Now the catch is that Calvin’s cousin that does the best job at telling temperature is the Snowy Tree Cricket. So if you’ve got a Snowy Tree Cricket outside your window (and who doesn’t?), then you should be able to figure out the temperature pretty closely.

If you don’t have live crickets nearby then simply send a text message to: 46645(Google) and type W  and then your zip code. Standard text message rates apply.

For example:

to: 46645

message: W 37174
